How we work
Most agencies describe their process with a diagram. Here's ours as it actually happens, week to week.
Starting
Every engagement starts with me. Before any design happens, I want to understand what you're building, why now, and what winning looks like. For bigger engagements we run a Vision phase: a short, intensive period where I work directly on your product and we find the bar together. You meet the delivery team inside it, so what comes next feels like a plan executing, not a handoff.
The rhythm
You'll hear from us twice a week, in writing, in your Slack or ours. Each update covers what shipped, what's in progress, and what we need from you, with a simple traffic-light so you can respond in ten seconds. If we don't hear back by midday the next day, we proceed and note it. Momentum beats ceremony.
Reviews
Work in progress is shared early and often. You'll never wait three weeks for a big reveal, because big reveals are where projects go to die. Small, frequent looks keep us honest and keep you in control.
Feedback
We want the disagreement in the room. If you think something's wrong, say so plainly and we'll either fix it or make the case for why it should stay. And we'll do the same in return. The clients who get our best work are the ones who argue with us.
Endings
Engagements end one of two ways here: an ongoing partnership, or a proper handover. If you're ready to bring design in-house, we'll help you hire and hand over generously. We think a studio's proudest work is the work that keeps going after it's gone.
1
What do you need from us to do good work?
A decision-maker in the room, honest answers about the business, and responses to the twice-weekly updates. That's genuinely it. The clients who get our best work are the ones who argue with us.
2
What if we disagree with a design decision?
Say so plainly. We'll either fix it or make the case for why it should stay, and we'll do the same in return. We want the disagreement in the room, not in a passive-aggressive comment thread three weeks later.
3
How many meetings should we expect?
Few. The written updates carry the routine, so calls are kept for decisions and reviews that actually need a conversation. Most clients end up with less meeting time than they had with any previous agency, and better visibility.
