Decentralized Exchange
As the founding design team for Infinex, Halaska Studio collaborated with Kain Warwick to reimagine decentralized exchange (DEX) through the lens of user experience. By blending deep Web3 understanding with Web2 UX expertise, we helped design a product that felt intuitive for everyday users while staying true to the principles of decentralization.

Overview
Infinex is pioneering the future of DeFi by creating a unified suite of products that prioritizes usability in an otherwise fragmented and technical space.
Our team brought together extensive experience in both Web3 product design and Web2 user expectations. This combination allowed us to craft a seamless user experience that made complex DeFi functionality feel simple and familiar.
Challenge
The primary challenge was to design a decentralized exchange that could match the intuitive experience of centralized platforms while preserving the autonomy and transparency that define Web3.
It required merging best-in-class UX patterns from Web2 with the technical complexity and user expectations of DeFi protocols, without compromising on security or user control.
Solution
Our approach focused on making the complex feel effortless while staying grounded in crypto-native behavior. Key contributions included:
Creating a comprehensive brand identity and design system
Developing intuitive user flows modeled on familiar Web2 mental models
Integrating emerging Web3 technologies like passkeys for seamless authentication
Conducting user research to validate key flows and MVP concepts
Building interactive prototypes for the DEX and marketing site
Establishing a scalable design foundation across UX, UI, and brand
Results
This early design work helped set the tone for a product that prioritized accessibility without sacrificing technical depth. Our impact included:
Defining the early UX direction for future iterations
Establishing a model for consumer-friendly Web3 product design
Bridging DeFi utility with a more mainstream user experience
Creating a framework that balanced innovation with usability
Demonstrating how UX thinking can de-risk and accelerate Web3 adoption
